World's Largest Baby at World's Largest Art competition
September 16, 2009 | Grand Rapids, Michigan | Vetting explained
A Swedish man comes home to participate in ArtPrize. Jonathan Haner, born and raised in Grand Rapids and dual citizen of Sweden came home on Tuesday, September 15th to install the world's largest doll against Grand Rapids largest bar and restaurant, the BOB. With a team of lilliputians, fittingly the name given to his volunteers, the doll is being installed and should be finished by the end of the week. Artprize, the worlds largest international art competition with over 1200 entrants, kicks off on Jonathan's 40th birthday. As they say, "Go BIG or Go Home", he has done both.
With the collaboration of Swedish sponsors shipping his materials to local businesses donating the filler this is a truly international project. His partner, Teresa Holmberg is in contact live by Skype daily to report on their blog site in Sweden...

When finished, the dolls head will rest on the third floor of the BOB and art enthusiasts are encouraged to come and appreciate the fantastic process that made this installation a reality.
