Canoe in Flooded Krog Tunnel (atlanta)
September 23, 2009 | Atlanta, Georgia | Vetting explained
I live in Atlanta, and when I heard a little area of town was flooded that I like, decided to go shoot. I asked my neighbor to join me on an expedition to Cabbagetown (a neighborhood near downtown Atlanta.)
We needed to go through this tunnel to reach the area we wanted. Needless to say, traffic was diverted. We looked down the tunnel and both were terribly excited to see a couple canoeing in the flooded tunnel where I biked through just days before. We parked on a nearby street and walked back. She loaned me her rain boots, which were totally useless by the point where this was taken, as the water was already well above them.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime photo, and I was glad to be able to capture these two in their version of an urban Atlanta Venice.
