The Roosevelt Hotel is a historic Spanish-style hotel located at on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Named after Theodore Roosevelt, it first opened its doors on May 15, 1927. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel hosted the presentation of the 1st Academy Awards in 1929. Marilyn Monroe was a resident at the Hollywood Roosevelt for two years when her modeling career took off. The long-running television series This Is Your Life hosted by Ralph Edwards originated at the hotel for much of its history. Montgomery Clift, who lived at the Roosevelt for three months at one time, is said to haunt his old room, 928.
