Barbra Streisand's Auction Today!
October 17, 2009 | Beverly Hills, California | Vetting explained
When I was a little girl living in Los Angeles my mother would take me to the auctions. So I became a fan at a very early age. I still enjoy the bidding process and watching the auctioneers, be them loud, fast or composed.
When in London this spring I came across a television show, where a currator of art/history would go into a household that is in need of a few extra dollars and would select a few chosen pieces to auction. I was hooked, and could not miss an episode. People had no idea of some of the treasures that had been hiding in their attack for years.
Today auctions have gone "online", yes, you can bid online. For more information go to juliensauctions.com. You can also browse through the catalog online and see a more accurate discription, pricing and history of the pieces that I captured on film of Barbra Streisand's lot of items.
Also, on picture #2, if you look close you can find a self photo portrait of myself! Pure accident of course.
All of the proceeds from Barbra's sale today will go to her charitable foundation.
