A Green Cleaning Party
October 21, 2009 | Long Island, New York | Vetting explained
Green cleaning parties are part of the environmental movement pioneered by advocacy group Women’s Voices for the Earth. Two years ago they examined the ingredients in over 200 commercial cleaners and found that many of the chemicals were harmful to the environment as well as linked with health problems like asthma, infertility, and birth defects. They decided the best way to reach the public was to have a party where guests could learn about these hazards while making their own eco-friendly cleaners.
The video is of one of these parties held on Long Island, New York last year.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
