iReport —

This Monday saw the launch of the new CNN.com. It’s cleaner and meaner and bigger and badder (say that three times fast at your own risk). Integral to the design is the user- generated component, iReport, beyond beta, and now a solid, frontline participant in the site. Thanks due the good folks at CNN for allowing citizen journalists to say their piece. I’m partial, but I can say with surety that the editors and staff involved are not only hardworking, professional and conscientious but extremely kind and decent people as well. Heartening in a weary world.

So- shameless plug. Here’s to CNN.
