CNN producer note

sjunat55 told me, 'Over 35,000 runners, over 26 miles, I think everyone who has the guts to even start and try to finish deserves one of those medals.'

iReport —

These guys and girls took part in a race that spans New York City- from the foot of the Verrazano Bridge in Staten Island to Central Park in Manhattan- hitting Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. Millions of people along the route cheered for them, without even knowing them.

They made it to the park, and I took pictures of them on Central Park West as they came out.

Everyone of them with a medal- every one a winner!

1-Luizzo from Sicily

2-Alvaro from Mexico

3-Stephanie from Canada

4-Rocco, from the Nassau County PD

5-FDNY's John Coffee

6-John Meissino NYPD

7-Shawna from Seattle

8-Rafael from Brazil

9-Giacomo from Verona, Italy

10-Elvi from France

From Central Park West as they finished running the New York City Marathon on November 1, 2009.
