Olive Harvest, Italy
November 3, 2009 | Rome, Italy | Vetting explained
CNN producer note
Slice of life stories are one thing, but tablespoonfuls are quite another. alisonv put together an almost Travel Channel-esque piece about olive harvesting outside Rome, Italy, in preparation for the pressing of olive oil. It's a beautiful piece featuring footage she's compiled over the years.
- nsaidi, CNN iReport producer
That wonderful season of the olive harvest has arrived. I am looking forward to getting out of the city and going to a "frantoio" - an olive press - to buy this year's fresh extra virgin olive oil. I may go out again this year and actually harvest some olives. It's free labor, but they will usually give you a bottle of the precious oil. That's worth a day in the trees!

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
