I just find it amazing how any of the News Media Organizations haven't even thought about the idea of Oil Speculation as the key issue for higher gas prices.. The little known fact is that in 2000, lobbyists for Enron Corporation were able to get a piece of legislation called The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 : From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity_Futures_Modernization_Act_of_2000 From Markets Wiki: http://www.marketswiki.com/mwiki/Commodity_Futures_Modernization_Act_of_2000 HR 5660-The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (Actual Bill) http://www.cftc.gov/files/ogc/ogchr5660.pdf This was passed by Congress (Tucked into H.R. 4577 106th: Consolidated Appropriations Act) What this new law does is allow the deregulation of Energy Commodities traded electronically. So what you are seeing as high gas prices, really amount to Speculators (investors) all over the world betting on the price of gas to go up. While the world suffers, Oil Companies and the Speculators are making a killing ! Thank Congress, Enron, and those investors for robbing the American Public and destoying this country for thier greed. Congress is involved in the legalization of a crime..on the behest of a currupt energy corporation ! I guess that's what they call freedom. Freedom to steal. Freedom to make laws that are unlawful. Why is it that corporations enjoy more freedoms than the individual ? Why can't I get laws changed that don't suit me. Sooner or later the people of this country will get smart. We will all stop playing by the rules eventually, just like the Corporations, just like the Ultra Rich. A National Security Issue. As for CNN..I guess everyone there is invested in Oil Commodites..Because they aren't talking. Ralph Fulvio
