My Family in Heaven
November 5, 2009 | Rancho Cordova, California | Vetting explained
This is an old picture of my father, brother and I. My father, Walter Jones, was a Deputy Director of the California Youth Authority's Office of Victim Prevention Services. He developed a program called "Young Men as Fathers". A program for male youth offenders who were fathers in which they would attend courses to learn parenting skills, job skills, etc.., to better take care of their family upon release and not end up back in prison. He very proudly attended every graduation throughout the State's CYA facilities. He passed away in 1999 at the young age of 52. And my brother also passed away, in 2005. I miss them both dearly.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
