CNN producer note

SVLDave told me he lives across the street from this facility and woke up this morning, two hours before it opens to find a line all the way around the building.

iReport —

Thousands of people lined up at the Santa Clara County Medical Center clinic this morning for H1N1 flu shots. The line began forming well before 7am for a 9:30 start of the clinic's flu shots, and by 10am it streched 3 times around the building, and snaked through the parking lot.

According to a Sunnyvale DPS officer only 1,000 immunizations were available. By 10:30 am there were several thousand people in line, blocking streets as they waited.
