iReport —
Iowa is getting a lot of news coverage, but Southeastern Illinois is still flooded! I live in Lawrenceville Illinois and got a plane ride yesterday and shot these pictures. The first two pictures were taken over the Wabash River just south of Vincennes and Westport where the levee broke. The third picture is of the levee break north of the airport and the 4th is a video of the flood waters at the Illinois - Indiana border, just west of Vincennes. You can view more pictures of the flood water by clicking on this link. http://picasaweb.google.com/edbrumley/61408AerialPhotosOfFloodOverLawerenceCounty Meanwhile, Lawrence County is still under a water emergency after the two levee breaks and a broken water main (located under the flood waters) that supplies the cities of Lawrenceville, Bridgeport & Sumner. Currently, Lawrenceville is trucking in water to fill the water towers, so that the cities (all who get it from the same source) would have tap water . It is something to shower in and that is about all. Boil water requirements and limited use is enforced under this water emergency. The water main will not be able to be repaired until the flood waters receed.
