iReport —

If you like your films on the strange and weird side, and you are a fan of so called "Black Comedies", this picture is for you. The all star cast that includes George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacy are excellent in this season's "other paranormal" movie. But, "The Men Who Stare At Goats", directed by Grant Heslov - and "loosely based" on the military's New Age experiments on the Army from Vietnam though the 80's, is not a mainstream film. The film gets an "R" rating for a brief 70's hippie hot tub nude scene, and extensive drug use from Pot to LSD.

If you are an adult that likes dark humor, if you are over 40 and "remember the day", its not a bad film. Just be prepared to see something, eh, different.  Important note due to "Breaking News": There is a scene where a soldier is experimented on - and given LSD without his knowledge. The man then opens fire on his own unit. With the events at Fort Hood still fresh in many minds, this made some in our theatre cry. And, if you are a recovering drug addict? Skip this film. Grade: B
