iReport —

Got up early, walked the dogs, fixed the coffee, and doing my morning chores, all is the same as any other day but for one thing, the sound of the Weather Channel in the background as I prepare the yard and the house for high water and winds, I cant believe that we have to think about a hurricane!  Can't complain,,,but really,,,,it is the middle of November and it would be coming right for us!

The weather is cool and the skies are gray with calm waters on the bay, for now, but in a few hours things should be different.  Not too worried about strong winds, the reports are coming in that the storm is weakening, but the forecast of high tides is what has my attention.  As you can see from my photos, we live very near the water’s edge here on Escambia Bay, just east of Pensacola and that is where they predict land fall sometime near midnight tonight.

So, it’s time for me to get off this computer and get to work bringing in plants, lawn furniture and anything else that might be in harm’s way.  As for evacuation, the local authorities have issued a voluntary evacuation for low lying areas, which we are very much a part of that, but we will wait and see.  If it looks like the bay may rise and cause the yard to flood, which it has in many storms, we will for sure high tail it out of here!
