The United States and its allies in Afghanistan have every resource and capability of winning the military war against the Taliban and insurgency groups. The problem is winning the political aspect of the war; winning the hearts and mind of the Afghani people. Its difficult to make a convincing argument towards the Afghanistan that the US prescense is a positive force, considering we are foreign invaders. So who are the Afghani people more likely to listen to...the foreign invaders (aka US) or the domestic groups who are trying to rid the country of invaders (taliban etc)? The US has to show that its mission is to improve the lives of afghanis, and pure military might is not going to accomplish that message, but only further it. We must win the hearts and mind of the Afghani people.
