iReport —

STAR WARS' DARTH VADER, CHEWBACA AND ASSORTED STORM TROOPERS RETURNED TO NEW YORK FOR 'STAR WARS:IN CONCERT' ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

The multimedia event which had it's world premier at the O2 Arena in London on April 10, 2009 is now on the U.S. leg of the tour. Saturday night it was at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY where this iReporter caught up with it and some intrepid fans.

Billed as a spectacular musical and visual event and it lived up to it's name. Star Wars: In Concert features music from John Williams’s Star Wars scores performed live by a full symphony orchestra and choir. The concert is accompanied by specially edited footage from all six films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen. Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO), was live on stage and narrated the program with wit and charisma. The live music was synchronized to the film clips in order to create a full multimedia experience along with dazzling, colorful laser beams that shot from the stage into the upper reaches of the high arena ceiling.

This is a concert for the young and young at heart; for parents, grandparents and kids of all ages. The feeling in the Coliseum before the show was upbeat and energized as fans took in the wonderful displays of Star Wars memorabilia, most on display for the first time, and mingled with Chewbaca and Storm Troopers who were only to happy to pose for pictures that will likely be treasured for a very long time to come. Afterwards, the audience stayed long and cheered hard, quite an achievement in a place where driving home is usually the priority and people tend to rush to be the first to their cars. Not on this night, not before the lights came on and every last second had been wrung from the evening.

Among those interviewed for this iReport were Chris Pravato, Mike Messana the two young men whose enthusiasm for the event was palpable, Sarah Dowling, the birthday girl, and Patrick Mahoney aka 'Darth Omegus', in his Sith incarnation.

All persons who appear in this video gave permission to have their images appear on CNN, including parents of children in all clips.
