Hi Robin,
My name is Lana Martinez and I live in Plantation Florida.
I am writing to make you and hopefully the President aware of what is going on with the process for first time home buyers to receive the $8,000 credit promised.
My husband and I purchased our first home in June of this year and applied for our credit immediately thereafter. We were told at the time we applied that the process would take 4-6 weeks. After 8 weeks passed we decided to call the IRS to find out the status of our application at which time we were told that there were over 5 million applications to process and the new processing time was now 16 weeks. We are now going into 24 weeks waiting to receive this credit and apart from it being frustrating, we have made extensive repairs to our home and in debt because we expected to cover the cost of these repairs with the money we hoped to receive more than 14 weeks ago.
I don't understand why it is such a big deal to process 5 million applications in over 6 months when the IRS processes over 100 million returns in less than 4 months between January and April  every year. Does this credit really exist or is this another one of those incentives promised to taxpayers like the cash for clunkers program that flopped.. Robin, I really need your help in making the President aware of what a disaster this first time home buyers credit is because there are millions of new homeowners in distress waiting on this money and all the IRS is doing is making excuses. I am of the impression that there is really no funding for this and that is the reason the IRS is stalling and making so many excuses as to why they are not making the payments despite the fact  they have received all documentation to substantiate homeownership.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASSSSE HELP US!!!
By-the-way, I think you are the best dressed woman in television!!!!
