New Year, Same Issues: Cold, Homeless & Jobless
January 3, 2010 | Newport News, Virginia | Vetting explained
Today is Sunday and the weather here in Hampton Roads, Virginia is cold!. I think, it was 20 to 25 degrees with the wind blowing at 17 mph. I decided to take a drive just to get out of the house for a minute to get something to eat when I saw a homeless man standing on the corner with a sign. He wasn't the man I interviewed before but someone different; if it wasn't so cold out I would have spent more time talking with him to ask more questions. I purchased some food for him and we chatted for a short minute in the cold.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
