BENEFIT OF $5/GALLON GAS -- Video
Where is all of the traffic? Commuting in the U.S. seems to be
changing. There are times when coming out of denial to finally face
and come to terms with problems pays off. Gas prices heading to
$5.00 per gallon this June is one of those cases. Finally,
Americans are truly feeling forced to dowsize their gas-guzzling,
air poluting trucks. They are beginning to turn in large numbers to
public transportation and more efficent commuting alternatives like
flexible work situations that save money and the earth's
environment.
Traffic jams are down 5% on average at peak times across the
country already in just a few months of escalating gas prices.
Imagine how quickly American's will adapt to an aternative form of
energy to power our transportation of the future that does not
polute and costs about half of what we are paying now at the pump.
The race is on to find this solution, as with current gas prices
there is a lot of incentive for others to find solutions that will
make everyone better off in the long run.
