Saturday, June 28th, 2008 - A GREAT BIG THANKS to so many people. We sure gave it our best shot, didn't we.

We took the final tour today of the failed levee, newly flooded Hwy 79, the Winfield/Foley Command Center and our home away from home....Winfield High School.

There was no water in any of the photos Friday morning. Now, I'll be taking a different way to work come Monday...

What a shame there wasn't a little "happy ending" to all this mess. I went to the Fire Department this afternoon (Command Center during this crisis) and heard that workers bagged all the way to 5am (that's when they heard the new levee failed). They had inmates come out durning the night and bag.

The problem seemed to be the last section of the levee that had to be constructed in the water, as the flood pushed it's way in.

What a great effort by all......EVERYONE should be very proud of all the hard work. I made some new friends in all of this....I'm sure many others did too. God Bless The National Guard!

We're Americans, we'll get through this!

Thanks!
