Free market ideals urge nations to compete by lowering wages and quality of product. In other words it creates a race to the bottom. The bottom line is the cheapest production. Food poisoning is now at an all time high. The escalation has been dramatic just in the last 3 years. Free trade is bringing us salmonella, shigella, vibrio, campylobactor jejuni, and ecoli. Things that were once rare are now increasing such as yersinia and pleisiomonas. It is getting frightening. How much more do we want?
