Fires In Leggett CA area
July 6, 2008 | Leggett, California | Vetting explained
I would first like to thank all the Leggett Valley Vol. Fire fighters and all the Community volunteers that jumped right in to help fight fires and save our homes and property. Our Chief Ely Rieghter of the Legget Vol Fire Dept. gathered at the FIre house and about 50 volunteers showed up to be hand crews, TImber fallers, Dozer operators, whatever needed to be done someone jumped in. We didn't have any help from CAL FIRE for days and our community pulled together and saved us until we got help from CAL FIRE. (We had hundreds of Fires just in Mendocino County so CDF, CAL FIRE was strapped) I would like to thank everyone who made food, brought water and fuel for the Dozers to the runners who then took all the supplies up to the lunch spot, people who shuttled the workers to and from. I know im forgetting something and too many names to even try to figure out but you know who you are and we all thank you so very much. We wish you health and safety because your still out there on the line and again we thank you so very much...

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
