How I spend my 4the of July holiday
July 6, 2008 | San Diego, California | Vetting explained
For over 30 years I was a police officer. Most of my 4th of July holidays were spending working. I hope in all the time I spent on the road, protecting the citizens, that some of them enjoyed their "safe and sane" 4th of July holiday because I was there to "protect and serve". I would like to think I made a little difference in the world while I did my service to my community! And, even if I didn't, I feel like one of the most luckiest people in the world....I got to do the job I wanted to do since I was a small kid. There was never a day I hated to go to work! I loved being a "cop" on the beat (especially a motor cop)!!!!

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
