Why do I love NASCAR?
July 8, 2008 | United States | Vetting explained
Why do I love NASCAR? What other sport can you use all of your senses? I can see my driver (Go Jr!!), I can hear the engines as they start them, I can feel the roar as the cars pass by, I can smell fuel in the air, and I can taste the beverage of a sponsor. It is like sensory overload going to a race. Where else do you hear, "the Cat in the Hat", "Shrub", "Rowdy" (one in the same), "June", "Happy" (Harvick), "Mikey", "Go Kenny", "Smoke", "Rocket Man", and "Lucky Dog", and everyone knows exactly who or what you are talking about. Where else can you camp for at least 3 days with 100,000 of your closest friends who all have the same thing in common as you, You LOVE NASCAR!!! Where else is the comaradie so close? Why do I love NASCAR? I can't find any of the afore mentioned items anywhere else, and these make me happy! I've only been to a few races at Michigan in August, but the intensity of the race is addicting! To watch these racers going almost 200 mph attempting to get through traffic, well, it's intense, exciting, and nerve-wracking. I have trouble getting around a tractor on a country road at 55! These drivers, each and every one of them, have my utmost respect and admiration! Although I have my favorite driver (Go Jr! I Love NASCAR....who's your driver?
