National DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH...
July 10, 2008 | cincinnati, Ohio | Vetting explained
october is National domestic awareness month.... soooo...I posted this performance of a piece entitled 'i got flowers today' as a tribute to a beautiful woman, mother and friend...Cassandra Betts....
some of you may have heard the story as it made national news... she was shot in the head by her on-again-off again boyfriend because he wanted her to have an abortion...yes she was pregnant with his child... he murdered her days before christmas with her 7 yr old daughter sitting in the back seat.....!!!! monstorous!!!!
one of the things she would call me and say is..'i got flowers today.... he's trying to make up..."
if i could say one thing to all of the people currently involved in a situation like hers..... please PLEASE PLEASE...LEAVE...YOUR LIFE ISNT WORTH IT....and THEY ARENT SORRY NOR WILL THEY CHANGE...
we are now in the 7th year since her passing.. she was to be my sons Godmother... he was born 3 days after her murder.... on Christmas Eve.. this year... 7,7, 7, play a signifigant role in her storty .... as 3x7=21... thats all her murderer boyfriend has to serve for taking two lives and leaving her now 14yr old daughter motherless....
please remember Victims of Domestic Violence every day... and remember ... getting flowers today can lead to death....
i love you and miss you Cassie...!http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-44578/!!
this performance was for NXSTV music and entertainment television.
