UPDATE AGAIN!
IT IS WORKING! I REPEAT iWEB IS WORKING.
But not a peep from Apple - not even an email saying - well -
that it's working - nothing. I know, I know, they had a terrific
run and are the 3rd most popular PC manufacturer - I get it -
they're big - but like Philip Elmer-DeWitt says on his blog - you
gotta still keep an eye on 'em.
Now I am ecstatic that this headache is over (I hope for all
time) but my trust in Apple has been dented. And I really don't
understand their silence.
UPDATE!
It looks like it might start working normally again today,
which is great, if it holds. After this last week I gotta admit I
am less trusting of Apple, which has had a great track record up
until now.
But looks like comments are now working on our websites and
in a couple hours I'll be able to get back to my Mac and check the
iWeb updating ability. As of late last night it was still not
working (2AM Pacific). But it sounds like it might be working now.
I still wish Apple could have been more public and supportive
of it's users. We really did get the run-around. I think we all got
that they were busy with their iPhone release but that's not really
our fault is it? In the future I would highly recommend to Apple to
be more forthcoming with any and all problems, provide parallel
systems to keep users from being forced to upgrade until bugs are
worked out and to provide a constant timetable to it's users.
It's not asking much.
But it will be a great relief if it's back up and running.
The plus side to all this craziness is that I got more into
iReports here at CNN and will continue to file here and on my site.
Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Here's my first full blown iReport with video. Still nothing
new from Apple as to when the scores of customers, like myself, can
expect our internet web hosting services to be restored fully.
Watch for more information and read my previous reports.
And did I mention things seem to run slower now?
