Obamas world tour 08
July 22, 2008 | Vetting explained
Now that Senator Obama has made his debut on the world stage it would appear that John McCains attempt to portray Obama as young and inexperienced has back fired in McCains direction. The troops seem genuinly happy to see him, the Military commanders are impressed by his ability to LISTEN to them and foriegn leaders are standing in line to meet him. The media is going a little overboard in their coverage as they always do when they fall in love with someone that they haven't torn apart yet but despite what all the pundits think the general public is cynical enough to overcome the praise of Obama long enough to realize that he is still new and despite his performance so far can look at him with a bit more of a critical eye than those who believe that all knowledge flows forth from NewYork city, Washington DC or Hollywood. When McCain challenged Obama to travel to the Middle East and Afghanistan I don't think he was prepared for the amount criticism he would in turn recieve by using the trip as an excuse to blaime Obama for the high price of gas, the failing economy and the unequal amount of media coverage of both campaigns. If McCain and his people truly believe that announcing the Vice Presidential candidate while Obama is overseas will increase their exposure in the media then they are really out of touch. At this point I half expect McCain to blaime Obama for the Vietnam War, the crisis in Dafur and the tomato scare.
