Thriving in Dallas Despite Searing Heat

It was nearing 100 degrees in Dallas this weekend when I spotted natural botany along a city street - a pink flower. Seeing this image reminds me of a pleasant summer afternoon in the midwest, not a scorching Texas morning. And I am reminded that such a vibrant color can create a reaction that will diminsh the days' heat in an instant.
