Most of the news media is reporting the same sob story but NEVER the solution (npr.org, msnbc.com, businessweek.com - the same *let's analyze this problem of black women in America).
Do you even have the guts to offer a solution? I want to hear the media moguls say something on this! I'm pointing my finger at every member of the Board of CNN, Viacom, Fox News, ABC, CBS,etc.
[http://stop showing the violence, drugs, crime, why black or any one else is the problem in society, drugs, crime, why black or any one else is the problem in society, etc.]

All are at fault to continue TALKING about the problem and not HELPING. Many black women ask for help without asking for handouts but they want to work, learn a skill and go to school. But, these doors are closed. I was even told I was over qualified for administrative positions but I was willing to take the sacrifice to get my foot in the door with some companies (mind you I have a law school education).
The media may highlight the poor black child success stories but what about helping us average individuals? Not everyone has these opportunities to have the change the USA offers to be the success stories in YOUR eyes.
What about the average joe who helps out in bringing smiles to children faces, what about the cashier's in the grocery stores who offer immediate attention and affection when someone may be hurting. Those are people who need to be told they can help be a part of the change. But oh nooooo...

Oprah has TRIED to do her part but she realizes that people are not listening and don't put all the burden on her. [Example - her movies have not been a success to the media standards of what is successful film] She is ONE person who cannot be the answer to all the problems in the world.

Spike Lee has tried to begin discussion of the problem (stereotypes within the black/white and the world at large) through his vision 20 years ago through film, but he realized he had to go another route in telling these stories so he would not be known as the angry black man. He is not angry but frustrated with life's problems like the majority of any human being. Give the man a break.
Do we even need other humans to complete our existence on Earth? I mean what is the problem if black women have never been married? Stop marganizling the community.

Obviously Christie Brinkley, a blonde supermodel - quintessential beauty in the world, has problems in having a decent man in her life too. So stop saying black women have a problem in having a man in their lives. It is a universal problem.

With the divorce rates as high as they are then why even deal with the relationship in a paper contract? Financially marriage can be a drain if you are not ready for the commitment both mentally and financially.

Stop perpetrating to problems and offer a solution. Everytime someone analyzes and tries to understand the complex problems in Black America (or just America) that continues to allow our world to destruct because we always highlight the PROBLEMS.

This is beyond sad but horrific.
Thanks for allowing my world to continue to destroy itself!
My name is pointless and I am single, female, no children, educated (college/law school), financially stable and I am a homeowner. Many other women like me exist (of all races) but we don't even care to share our stories anymore.
Who cares? I don't even want the attention. I have nothing to give but to try to be a part of the solution. I rather remain nameless and continue to help be a part of the change in my community.
I am not interested in watching the rest of this series..

  • from an educated black female somewhere in the USA
