What about the stories of whites who have a hard time?
I wish there was a program that relates to the problems of "whites"
making it through life. We too had to struggle to make it through
the 12 years of school, wanting to go to collage but could not. And
to get a professional job was so far fetched that you had no hope.
I graduated from high school, second highest in class. I won
a 4 year scolarship program to a local college. if I continured to
make the grades I had made so far, the additional years would be
paid. I had no money for tution, no money for a room and no money
for gas nust less a car to go to College.
I worked at night and weekens in order to go to a local LPN
school. I had to pay for my books and tution. I also had to pay for
sittters to watch my children while I was in school. My husband
refused to pay for school or help with the children. There were
blacks in my classs that were getting paid moneys each week just to
go to school. They really had no interest in school and would only
make grades sufficient to keep them in class in order to get the
money each week.
So tell me, where are the specials about whites who has had
to struggle and still are, getting through life, looking for
happiness, not worrying about how you are going to pay for items
revelent to a good life? Any answers? Anyone going to do a special
about us? We have feeling and are just as important as anyone else.
