my full name is December Joy Lagos. and yes, i was born in december.
long story shot, my parents weren't expecting a girl, so they didn't have a girl name picked out. when i was born i didn't have a name and the nurse told my mom that she needed to name me before i left thte hospital. so my mom said i was a joy in december....so i am now a December Joy.
growing up kids can be cruel. i hated my name. there's not even any real way to make fun of the name, maybe i was just a sensitive kid. but the teasing was only during school, because for some reason my parents only called me Joy. when i switched schools in 6th grade, i asked everyone there to call me Joy. and i was happy.
but when i got to high school, all the attendance sheets said December. but some girls were calling me joy. people actually thought i was a twin!
luckily, now i fully appreciate the name my parents gave me. it's so unforgettable. i think it makes me stand out, even on paper. and everyone who meets me says it totally fits me. have you met anyone else named December??
