No Name
July 25, 2008 | Madison, Alabama | Vetting explained
My dad always tells the story of his names and lack of one. He was number 5 out of 7 kids. Apparently, when he was born his mother forgot to register a name for him. So all through high school they would call out "No Name". I think they finally got it fixed by doing a new birth certificate at that time. But his given name is Ormond - he is named after his girl cousin! I never though Ormond sounded like a girl's name - but that's the way things go in our family. I wanted to name my daughter Emily Elizabeth, after the Clifford books girl, but no one would let me - she is now Emily Grace.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
