My son's unique name
July 25, 2008 | Portland, Oregon | Vetting explained
My own name is pretty normal, but my son's name is a unique one for sure. His name is Corum (pronounced Core-um).
The source of the name is my husband. He is a huge fan of the Elric series by moorcock. I forbade him from naming our son Elric (which I was against because Elric is an anti hero who kills everyone he gets near and destroys the universe) so he suggested Corum. I agreed, not realizing that in the series, Corum is another incarnation of Elric.
Ah well. For sanity's sake, we gave him the middle name Erik (Danish spelling, as the husband is danish)

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
