My name is Indiana Elizabeth Jones, yes....Indiana Jones, my
parents named me after my dad's family history...however there is a
new Indiana Jones movie out this year, so all my other 12 year old
friends think it's pretty cool. My mom only agreed to name me
Indiana if I were a girl....there was no way she was having a son
named that...little did she know what would happen 5 years
later....When my mom was pregnant with my little brother, everyone
told her she had to come up with a cool name for him because of my
name. She decided on Jack (of course she later found out that Jack
Jones was a singer during her parents time) after my grandma Jackie
and thought with the name Ryan as a middle name, she would just
tell everyone she was a big Harrison Ford fan as a joke!
Except..... when my mom fell asleep after my brother was born, my
dad named him on a dare from a cousin of his and now I have a 7
year old brother named Dow Joseph Jones.....yep Dow Jones is his
name, so we get lots of laughs. We are into every sport under the
sun.....we both ski competitevly, play soccer, golf and I play
softball while he plays baseball and football. Announcers love to
say our names during sporting events....and my parents and good
friends love to watch people's reactions when they hear our names
being called. Just remember...................... I LOVE MY NAME! ~
Indiana Jones
I had to add this after today.....I LOVE my name and I for
one am glad my dad talked my mom into naming me Indiana. I have
never in my life thought I was named after a movie, nor have I been
teased by other children or in a "school yard fight". I am proud of
my name and love it, that is why I sent my story into this site. I
now know after what some of the things my parents have said from
the Blogs & comments (I can't read them) that it isn't kids
that can be cruel; but adults actually are, especially the ones
that can't accept the fact that some unique names given to a child
are ones they love and cherish! In case you are all wondering....my
brother loves his name too. Oh yea, someone owes me $10.00, my dad
doesn't have a mullet! ;) ....I thought that was pretty funny!
In response to assignment:
