Previously in 7/08, I heard a CNN tv ad request for viewers to share their success / millionaire story, so here is mine - updated. In last 2 years I have bought 2 rental raised beach houses, both very successful, due to foreclosures and my online rentals! I started at $5.00/hr. working as a geologist in 1984, and now am semi-retired and own and rent 10 homes and webmaster for several other owner's home rentals. Most of our success has been in growing our rental home #'s, helping others rent their homes online, and in short term vacation rentals, as the house rentals typically break even. However, we have lost a lot in the stock market recently and have had many bad / good renters to deal with. I have no formal business training and am totally self made. Keys to my success are: passionate about my business-love it, work everyday, good at it, always learning and growing my business, managing risk, problems and bad tenants, use common sense, work hard and smart, innovate, do most everything myself, am my own property manager, salesman, webmaster, maintenance man, etc. I work hard and smart 24 / 7 online. Most everything is automated. I know I have helped several others become nearly millionaires building their wealth through rentals.
