In my opinion technology has not helped this society lose
any weight. With all the new technologies like the Xbox 360,
Playstation 3, HDTV, TiVo, and the PC (just to name a few). The one
game system that I think is starting to change the way people look
at exercise is the Wii, it allows you to get some exercise BUT not
enough that you need in your daily life. Parents and children just
need to get out and do more things! Take a family walk, play a pick
up game of basketball, or something athletic for the whole family!
Take some time out of your busy lifestyle, drop the coffee and just
go do something family fun outdoors.
As for the government, they should be cracking down on
schools. 3/4 OF SCHOOLS IN THE UNITED STATES DON'T HAVE A GYM
CLASS! I am from Minnesota and we were required to take a gym class
until 11th grade with the option of a sport also! Its a rediculous
claim to hear that some schools "don't have time for physical
activity" The government should require all schools have at least
45 minutes of physical activity a day! Also regulate the foods
being cooked in schools. The high school I go to has all healthy
options. They bake almost all of the food they make and offer lots
of fruits and veggies with lunch. No frying. There are only diet
soda, milk and water machines. Soup and salad bar almost everyday.
Giving a variety of choices. The government needs to look into
school and actually see what is happening to the future people who
are going to be running this country! Its so sad to see a 5 year
old who weights 80lbs!
The US has become this way because we all have decided that
physical activity is no longer important, McDonalds and Burger King
replace home cooked meals for dinner now! People: it only take 30
minutes to make dinner at home. Take the time to feed your family
the right nutrition in the proper food servings!
My tips are:
1. Get your physical activity whether it be going on a 20
minute walk everyday or doing a hard cardio workout at the gym.
2. Eat healthy! Meals are not that hard to make, eating right
will keep your body feeling refreshed and in top condition
3. GET SLEEP. With the fast paced lifestyle we have seemed to
have adopted over the last 10-20 years get your sleep. At least 8
hours. Getting sleep will make you feel energized and ready to
start a new day!
