I have to say that I was not impressed with this movie. Some have described it as artistic, a satyr, etc. I disagree!

I will grant you that there was humor, but other wise it leaves a lot to be desired. After the first 10 minutes I should have left the theater, but I kept watching...erroneously thinking that it would get better. I kept waiting and watching ....in disbelief & dismay. It projects and depicts the Viet Nam war era as a gross joke. Sorry, but it wasn't then nor is it now. I don't think the military that served in Nam would find it amusing. Think the war now is amusing? Ask anyone whose serving and fighting now if they find it amusing. As for the drug related scenes... it's a sad commentary to an extremely bad situation in our society.
Most people have resorted to cussing (including me ) in order to express themselves, which has now become common place, but the amount of graphic language and the use of "m...f..." in Tropic Thunder is extreme and excessive.
I know that most of the people who read my comments will not agree and will think of me as being narrow minded (actually I am a live & let live person) and that's ok....different strokes for different folks.
Sadly, I think our society has become too jaded.
