West Berlin 79-82
August 16, 2008 | Vetting explained
It was a strange 3 years in the Berlin Brigade. The East Germans could have painted POW Camp on their side of the wall and cut us off from the world. The best thing that happened when I was there was the Dodgers beating the Yankees in the World Series. I have a slide collection and have given several presentations to the local High School German Class. The wall has returned to haunt the middle east.
We were all young, and strong. We knew we were right. We kept the Commies at bay and away from "Free Berlin". Looking at my pictures now makes me realize even more how bad it was.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
