There seems to be a lot of interest so I have added more details about another one of the Bigfoot scams from Ivan Marx. This all really took off after it was first published in Argosy Magazine in 1968. I used to live about 25 miles from Burney CA where Ivan Mark lived. I was told he even raised quite a bit of money to find Bigfoot. I guess this would be considered fraud. I never met Ivan but I knew the people that helped him. These same people also staged several other of these Bigfoot stunts in the Pacific Northwest with footprints. On one occasion a pair of very large feet they had made were strapped to their shoes and put on backwards. They then ran downhill in the snow making footprints. This was done to make it look like Bigfoot was climbing up hill with an extra long stride. The location was along a major Highway. If I remember right it was in Washington State. I was told all about this in the early 1980's.
