On Saturday evening 16th August 2008 there was a partly lunar eclipse. For 'viewers' in the Netherlands the moon was hidden behind the shadow of the earth for about eighty percent, leaving just a crescent.

The eclipse started at 9.36 pm local time, the peak moment was at 11.10 pm (the pictures where taken around that moment).
While I am writing this the eclipse is still going on. The eclipse will end around 0.44 am on Sunday morning (times according to the Dutch weather service KNMI). The evening started cloudy, but an hour after the beginning of the lunar eclipse the clouds vanished partly and the eclipse was to be seen.
