And good afternoon everyone, I'm Vickie Maidstone with an updated report from the Relay For Life of Second Life.
The total amount raised was over $200,000.00 US
There were 2,300 people involved over a 24 hour period. 36 sims, 89 teams.
The following awards that were given out at the end of the Relay and Wrap Up Party really shows the true spirit of the enormous amount of people, time, and energy that was well done in true pioneer spirit and also of being involved on a truly global scale. I was just completely floored at what could be done and never had seen this done like this before.
And now here are the Awards;

Survivor Award for RFL of SL 2008.
This award is very special to a team that I am going to recognize that had suffered a tragic loss of one of their members two months before Relay,
Artistic Fimicoloud, who died on May 26th,2008, but played an active role in the Survivor's Group and in Relay ForLife up until a few weeks before her death. For fighting cancer with her paintbrush and crayons and for teaching us how to live, Fimi as she is known to her family and friends the world over may be gone, but her influence will be felt for many Relays to come
Her Team, Passionate Redheads, Team Captain, Daaneth Kivioq Fimi is still a member of this team, maybe not physically, but in Spirit, I know she is smiling at her fellow team mates with the love andf joy she brought them.
LadyKay Gable, for always being ready to step and help for her team spirit and for having a heart of gold.

This is truly a year that will go down in history as a record breaker and as far as I know, a very memorable one, full of emotion and as a final note, when the next day came around after the closing ceremony, the RFL08 Captains group channel exploded into so many messages of hope and love, and so many people were just so drawn closer together, because we all did it together, giving each other encouragement, and support, and many agreed that Artistic (Fimi) Fimicoloud was smiling from her heavenly place as we relayed for her, in her memory, from Fimi Falls in Hope Park on the Southern Colorado Sim I'm Vickie Maidstone reporting
