You've GOT to be kidding.
We saw the movie today - it was the funniest movie I've seen in years. I'm amazed that certain groups are using this as a platform to advance their own agenda. The point wasn't to mock disabled people - it was MAKING FUN OF ACTORS WHO PLAY DISABLED PEOPLE. I'm SO sick of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. I'm a 47 yr old overweight woman - and the movie also makes fun of fat people. Am I upset? Hell no. Robert Downey Jr was PRICELESS.
BTW - the first person to bitch about the movie is a Kennedy (Shriver = Kennedy). I'm old enough to remember that old Joe Kennedy had one of his daughters STERILIZED and LOBOTOMIZED to prevent embarassment to the Kennedys. Am I the only one who doesn't find Shriver's yelping ironic???? Just a bit of family guilt there?
Disabilities, illness, obesity, etc, are all facts of life. DEAL.
