RoboStool - Furniture On-Demand

In a continuing effort to create unique and unusual robots I just completed RoboStool - a robotic foot stool. RoboStool has three missions (modes if you like). Remote control, beacon navigation (uses IR and not GPS) to guide the robot from point A to point B and a "follow-me" mode that uses thermal sensing to track and follow a human target.

This robot has taken the internet blog world by storm. It has appeared in virtually every tech blog and on the radio in Geneva. It's YouTube videos have received over 122,000 views in the past two weeks.

The amazing thing is that everyone thinks this is a real product! It is in fact just a hobby project of mine that will appear in a future issue of Robot Magazine. At this pace RoboStool could become more popular than WALL-E.
