The movie Tropic Thunder gets laughs at others expense. The only purpose of calling people "retard" is to offend, to ridicule, mock, demean and devalue. The creators had advisors for their racial jokes, but did not care how their extremely offensive disability jokes went, and even first choose to highlight them out of context. Yes, free speech, people are free to watch this, free to use hate language and offend others who are different them, but that's a choice you make. You are now aware that using the r-word is hate language and whether you think it should offend any of the 49 million Americans with disabilities or not, it does, That is a fact, so if people choose to continue to use it, and choose to support movies such as this, they are choosing to participate and promote a culture of hate. Your choice.
