Santa Cruz Chalked-Up is an annual event I started in Santa
Cruz, CA. last year. It's on the 3rd Saturday in August every year,
all day. The 2nd annual event on Saturday August 16, 2008 was a
complete success!
Chalked up gives people a chance to be heard, to express
their visions, ideas or feelings on this sidewalk form. A fun event
for the hole family.
All the pictures were taken by myself Alekz Londos. To see

I would like to thank everyone that came out to support Santa
Cruz Chalked-Up this year [all the people that brought their own
chalk, as well as all the people that passed out chalk] Please DO
NOT Chalk-Up the outside walls of the businesses in the following
years! Try to keep the chalk on the sidewalks.

Chalk is made out of Calcium Carbonate and is completely
harmless to the environment. It is REALLY easy to wash off or
simply wears away after a short time [remember its just chalk]
There has been a lot of controversy regarding this event. I
am happy to see it has stimulate conversations, encouraged debate
and discussion on some of the key issues we face in 2008
Some of the local businesses will hand out chalk next year,
to bring more people into their business.
Here is a few links for really Cheep Sidewalk Chalk. You can
