Beijing Olympics

Beijing, China // embed media

We have enjoyed several Olympic events as long-term residents and US citizens living here in Beijing. After living in Beijing for 4 years, our children have become accustomed to being treated as celebrities because they are foreigners in China. Whenever we go to an Olympic event, we find ourselves surrounded by Chinese tourists who ask to pose with our children in photos. Here, our son Devin (age 19 months) poses with one Chinese fan at the Bird's nest, and then poses for an entire group of photographers.
Luckily, our children seem to love the attention. In fact, when we return to the US they are shocked by the fact that no one wishes to take their photo (other than their adoring grandparents and parents, of course).
