Obama knows any choice besides Hillary Clinton will alienate the majority of his own party. He can not be looking forward to the repercussions of his actions. More Democrats want Hillary as Obama's V.P. choice than any other candidate being considered by a 2:1 or 3:1 margin, depending on which poll you believe. If he picks anyone else, he will have a lot of explaining to do to at least 18 million angry people or more. How can we believe Obama will make the peace between Israel and the Arabs, and between the U.S. and Iraq, Iran, the Russians and North Korea, if he can't make peace with the Clintons? It would be a great show of loyalty to the majority of disillusioned Democrats and a great way to exemplify the begining of a peacemaking Presidency if Obama chose Hillary as V.P. Unfortunately, it does not look like he is going to make that decision. At a minimum, hopefully she and Bill Clinton will get significant roles in improving the Health Care System, in the United Nations, or in the cabinet.
