Billy Corgan in Boston
March 27, 2008 | Boston, Massachusetts | Vetting explained
My first Pumpkins show was at "The Orange Peel", in Asheville, NC- July 2007. And wow! It was a beautiful show- Billy let it shine. One of the greatest venues I've ever been to- drove down from DC.
The second concert was Fall 2008- flew in from overseas to catch this concert. I currently work out of the country. The concert was 'ok'- after my first experience, nothing could compare. After the show my friend and I walked around the back alley's hoping to catch a glimpse. We decided to stop at the end of one where we saw a man wearing a coat that had "crew" written on the back. So we just hang out- watch a street fight, the others disperse. Now it's just me, my friend & this guy. He says to us from across the street, "you waiting for billy?.. you'll be waiting a long time." So I reply, "well, looks like we'll be waiting together then, hah." No less than five minutes later, a tall man rounds the corner, he's wearing a winter coat, scarf & skull cap. He glances at us, waves & says, "you gals waiting for me?" We wave back and smile- he invites us to walk with him up the street, then also invites us into his hotel lobby where we all chat for about 20 minutes. I was in heaven! It was a great conversation about nothing, but it meant everything. He was a kind man, not wrapped up in his celebrity status, very REAL.
