iReport —

From Milan Milosevic, Vancouver, B.C.:

It took more than 20 minutes for firefighters, medics and police to arrive on scene; temperature was overwhelming for everyone, and to make thing worse, ventilation was out too. Doors sealed.

We decided to break the emergency levers and open the doors by ourselves! Jubilation is obvious on faces of everyone on board. Monorail crew was, least to say, stunned by the situation; confused and indecisive, which led to late 911 call. This was obvious to everyone on board, since they announced to bring other vehicle, at first, and did nothing for more than 10 min., after this initial promissory note.

It was only then, that ‘we the people' took matter into our hands, by forcefully opening the Monorail's doors.

If this where to be emergency, with more serious circumstances, thus consequences, e.g. fire, smoke- it would make this 'sigh-seeing'- a grave disaster.

Arrival of previously announced, then sometime after, denounced arrival of another monorail vehicle, arrived eventually, more than one hour after initially announced, long after firefighters begun taking people out.

Sincerely,
