Correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't there a certain document that lets Americans know that they enjoy "the pursuit of happiness?"

With a president and a Congress hovering around 20% approval, where is the happiness? Why are we not pursuing it?

CNN is absolutely right in asking that fundamental question--do you feel better off today than you were 8 years ago?

Many will claim that the world has changed since September 11, 2001, and that such a question cannot be answered in context. But what does that really mean? Does it mean the terrorists have won? Now that a terrorist attack has occurred to America, we need to throw away all progress and live in fear of terrorism? Folks, isn't that the whole aim of terrorism itself?

Is the current administration correct in their dealings with American foreign policy? What about their economic policy? Their policy on education? On government reform and election law?

An administration that pledged to reduce the size of government has INCREASED it by a dramatic amount. The current conservative attack on Senator Obama is that he is too idealistic to implement any policies--but isn't this the Republican administration that has embraced the Economics of Wishful Thinking? That if we cut taxes for the wealthy and increase government spending, the economy will somehow prosper?

Who really needs a dose of reality?

The Obama campaign has a plan to transform that coveted American idealism into real-life answersnot since the days of Kennedy and Reagan has this been done (you can bad-mouth both former Presidents all you want, but that's not the point here). What does the McCain campaign have to offer? More of the samethe same path we have been on that hasn't pleased anyone.

We should never be forced to fear terrorism. We should never be forced to accept stupid decisions on the economy. In a democracy, WE ALONE hold the power to change--"we are the ones we've been waiting for." Get it?

The pursuit of happiness, folks. Your founding fathers gave it to you. It's time for you to follow through.

We can right this ship if we put Obama at the helm.
